Indoor Air Quality
|
Phoenix personnel have many years of experience of developing effective solutions to address IAQ concerns in office, school, hospital and residential environments. Typically, a site specific protocol is developed in consultation with site representatives based on the symptoms and concerns of the building occupants, as well as, the findings of a preliminary review of the work environment. As other factors may contribute to occupants’ perceptions, evaluations may consider parameters such as lighting and psycho-social aspects. Investigations may range in duration from single day surveys through to comprehensive long term evaluations.
Examples of IAQ Investigations include:
- Comprehensive/Targeted Evaluations, which may incorporate:
- Walkthrough of building
- Review of HVAC System
- Indoor Environment Questionnaire
- Thermal comfort monitoring (re: ASHRAE 55-2005)
- Monitoring of carbon dioxide levels and other comfort parameters over extended time periods.
- Sampling for site specific contaminants (e.g., formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds, airborne environmental fungi (mould) and bacteria, allergens, etc.,)
- Comfort Survey - temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and suspended particulate.
- Vehicle Exhaust Surveys (e.g, service garages, underground parking, loading docks and other entrainment issues)
- Odour investigation
- Evaluation of odourous and unknown compounds using multiple (or odour specific) sampling methodology
- Identification of potential sources based on laboratory and literature data
- Monitoring in health care facilities during construction and renovation projects (per CSA Z317.13-03)
- Lighting Surveys
- Office Ergonomics
